Panel paintings and wooden objects

The CBC has wide experience in the treatment of panel paintings, painted sculpture and other wooden objects. In our treatments of some of the most important works of Italian art, the combination of keen observation with historical and archival research and scientific analyses has enabled us to provide detailed insights into the artistic and woodworking techniques employed and the objects’ conservation history.

In the process, we have continually sought to strengthen our relationships with other experts to ensure we are always fully informed on the latest methods and materials.

Our experience ranges from single small panels to complex polyptychs and altarpieces from the twelfth to the twentieth centuries
