Years of treating ancient, medieval and modern sculptures, both on-site and in museums, have honed several areas of specialization: recovery and study of original colour and surface treatments of stone; studies on loss replacement and substitution in ancient statuary, from the Renaissance to modern times; surveys of sculptural techniques via traces of original tool marks; and development of projects for the reconstruction of monuments, both for disassembled structures and those incorrectly assembled.
Our major specialization is in marbles, but we have also treated many other types of stone: sandstone, tuff, soft limestones, travertines, breccia, alabaster, porphyry, and all kinds of coloured stones.
We have also considerable experience in both wall and floor mosaics, in stone and in glass, from Roan times to the early modern period.
